Putting you in control

Design & Engineering

Just as you would hire an architect, landscape designer or interior decorator, Access Point Designs’ design and engineering team can be retained to develop a comprehensive system design. This design and engineering package includes a system functionality overview, components list, pricing, schematics, and blue print mark-ups.

Part of this service also includes: documentation to support cabinet design, equipment ventilation specifications, structural requirements, and conceptual drawings to aid in the communication and visualization of our plan.

As your project evolves, our designers and engineers continuously keep an eye on the rapidly changing electronic systems industry. APD stays on the cutting edge of technology, not the bleeding edge. This ensures that you have the most reliable and efficient system available at the time your project is complete.

Project Management

Typically, the missing element in most projects is a single point of contact or someone in charge – a project manager. Access Point Designs takes project management very seriously, as it is a key position to ensure that the project goes smoothly and efficiently.

A project manager proactively disseminates project information to all stakeholders, manages the overall schedule, makes sure work is completed on time and within budget, and effectively resolves project issues. He or she procures necessary equipment for the job, manages the project scope to ensure what was agreed upon is delivered, and is the client‘s “go-to” person. APD’s project manager is readily available and accessible, and oversees the entire project from conception to completion.

Access Point Designs ordinarily has its hand in every aspect of the building project from beginning to end. It is

essential that APD communicates clearly with every other trade involved with the job. Our project manager arranges all meetings with the key stakeholders on the job (client, architect, builder, electrician, interior designer, landscape artist, pool contractor, etc.), as well as our internal team (engineering, purchasing, scheduling, installers, programmers, and service department). Thus, everyone understands the needs of each trade, avoids confusion, and is able to work towards the same goal for the client.

Installation

Installers run all of the cables, build the equipment racks, wire the components together, and mount the TVs on the wall. They climb through the attics, crawl under the house, and traverse the roof to get the job done. The system installers are the people who you will see the most of -they are there from the beginning and are usually the last to leave, making sure that everything works and looks just like you imagined.

Access Point Designs employs multi-certified, skillfully trained, professional installers who take great pride in their work. From the pre-wire phase to component connections, through to finishing with testing and calibration, APD’s installation team is the best in its class. When contracting with APD, you get installers who know everything there is to know about the products they install. They are clean, courteous, unobtrusive and on time. They are required to use protective tarps, wear booties or non-marking soled shoes, and clean up after themselves.

Programming

Access Point Designs provides exceptional programming services for all of our clients, whether it is configuring a multi-estate system spread across several states, or the “universal” remote control for your bedroom. Our highly trained programmers make sure that the user interface, or simply put, the remote control, is as easy to use as your car radio.

Every piece of electronics in your home needs some level of set-up and programming in order to enable proper communication throughout the entire system. Once each individual component is addressed, then the main system programming “talks to” and instructs each part to do its thing. Therefore, the system’s integrity is only as good as the programming.

APD is confident in their ability and foresight to make sure that every system they conceptualize functions as a whole, works every time and is super intuitive to use. The result will be an uncomplicated system that requires very little instruction. programming_323

APD also provides programming services for telephone systems, computer networks, surveillance DVRs, and other devices you may need help with.

Proactive Service Agreements

A proactive service agreement is far beyond an extended warranty. It is preventative maintenance for your system. Just as you get oil changes for your vehicle, maintain your landscaping, or take vitamins, this type of service makes sure your investment is well protected.

Access Point Designs provides regularly scheduled visits to calibrate your system, dust off the equipment rack, upgrade firmware, and basically make sure that everything is working the way it was designed. While they are there, they can answers questions you may have about the system, train you on new features or let you know about the latest technology available. APD’s service agreement options include 24-hour response time almost 365 days a year, loaner equipment, and even an on-duty technician for a party or special event. Signing up for APD’s proactive service agreement will help eliminate that emergency call or the chance of you being without your favorite form of entertainment.

Consulting

Have you ever been confused as to what types of electronics you need versus what just seems cool to have? Well, with the constantly changing and advancing field of electronics, there is no way for the consumer to always be up-to-date with the latest technology. That is our job.

Whether you are in the planning stage of a new home or business project, or if you’re just interested in updating your current electronics system, it is helpful to have someone to look out for your best interest.

consulting_400APD’s consultants can help you with choosing the best, appropriate equipment, educate you on the latest and greatest electronics on the market, and discuss placement for both aesthetics and functionality. Additionally, our consultants have evaluated third-party proposals, been solicited by film and television studios to ensure accuracy, judged electronics systems for awards, and testified in disputes.
